'Brave': Pixar Releases Teaser Trailer (Video)

Pixar has unveiled its first trailer for Brave, an animated fantasy centering on a Scottish princess who inadvertently brings turmoil to her kingdom by defying a sacred custom of the land.

Boardwalk Empire's Kelly Macdonald, who is actually Scottish, gives voice to Princess Merida.

Scots Craig Ferguson, Billy Connolly and Grey's Anatomy's Kevin McKidd are also on board as cast members.

The trailer shows lush, foggy landscapes before introducing viewers to the film's red-haired heroine.

The princess gallops through the forest on her horse until she encounters a humongous bear. She takes aim at it with her bow and arrow as the trailer's narrator declares, "When we are put to the test, it is the one thing we must always be."

Brave will be released June 22, 2012.
