'Captain America 2' Washington D.C. Footage Hits Web (Video)

Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson were spotted filming "The Winter Soldier" on the National Mall.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is filming in Washington D.C., and footage from the shoot has hit the Internet.

Chris Evans (Captain America) was spotted doing pushups between takes while wearing a gray S.H.I.E.L.D. shirt. Washington’s NBC 4 captured footage of Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow wearing wearing trademark black, while Anthony Mackie (Falcon) was also spotted on the set.

A rep for Winter Soldier said Marvel Studios wanted to capture some of D.C.'s monuments during shooting. The film began production April 8 in Los Angeles, with filming also taking place in Cleveland.

The cast for The Winter Soldier includes Robert Redford as Agent Alexander Pierce, described as an upper-level S.H.I.E.L.D. head; Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury; and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier.

Anthony and Joe Russo are directing from a screenplay by Christopher Markus. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is producing, with Alan Fine, Louis D'Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee executive producing.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theaters April 4, 2014.
