Confirming speculation, Marvel has announced that the Captain America: The Winter Soldier writing team of Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely will rejoin directors Joe and Anthony Russo for the two-part Avengers: Infinity War storyline.

The writers have been working with Marvel since 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger, and will have a chance to get some Avengers practice with the screenplay for next year's Captain America: Civil War, which will feature almost all of Marvel's Earth-bound superheroes to date. Additionally, the two were responsible for creating Marvel's Agent Carter for ABC, for which they also wrote the pilot, and they worked on 2013's Thor: The Dark World with writer Chris Yost.

Avengers: Infinity War, which will bring Thanos into conflict with Marvel's heroes for the first time, will act as a two-part finale for "Phase 3" of Marvel's Cinematic Universe, with the first movie being released May 4, 2018, followed by the conclusion May 3, 2019. Marvel also announced Thursday that both movies would be filmed entirely in IMAX, the first time a Hollywood blockbuster has been shot entirely in the format.
