Not content with displaying the underbelly of modern American society in projects like Fight Club, Survivor and Choke, author Chuck Palahniuk has turned his attention to an unexpected new medium: the coloring book.

Bait: Off-Color Stories For You to Color, announced this summer, reaches stores this week and ahead of the book's release, Heat Vision can exclusively debut the trailer for the book, which features eight stories by the writer and almost 50 all-new illustrations from the likes of Lee Bermejo, David Mack, Duncan Fegredo and more.

"Considering how much time and labor people put into completing coloring books, those books should be illustrated by Rembrandt and bound in gold-plated leather," Palahniuk told Heat Vision, going on to say, "Bait is our small step toward giving people a coloring book that will showcase and honor their creativity into the distant future."

The trailer for the project was created by Andy Mingo, who earlier this year ran a successful Kickstarter campaign to adapt Palahniuk's novel Lullaby, with a screenplay from the author himself.

Bait will be released Oct. 26, but if you can't wait that long, below are some of the new images created especially for the book:
