Comic-Con 2011: CBS Films Heading to 'Hellfest' with 'Walking Dead' Producer Gale Ann Hurd
CBS Films has picked up Hellfest, an original screenplay by William Penick and Chris Sey. Gale Anne Hurd, the veteran genre producer who exec produces AMC's The Walking Dead, will produce through her Valhalla Entertainment.
The script takes what goes through the minds of everyone who’s ever gone to theme parks during the time of Halloween and the parks become filled with actors dressed as ghouls, zombies and whatnot and scare the pants off of patrons.
According to CBS, “in Hellfest, a Halloween night of fun turns deadly at America's premier theme park when an actual costumed killer begins slaying unsuspecting patrons who believe it's all part of the show.”
Penick and Sey wrote the script from a concept by Valhalla’s Ben Roberts, who will serve as executive producer.
Penick and Sey co-wrote a horror movie that aired on Lifetime titled Secrets in the Walls.
