Comic-Con 2012: 'Star Trek' Embarks on New Memorabilia Enterprise
CBS Consumer Products is coordinating a number of partnerships for "Trek" apparel, artwork and more, to be unveiled and given away on the convention floor.
CBS Consumer Products is offering Star Trek fans a few new reasons to go boldly where no man wearing deodorant has gone before: San Diego Comic-Con. Monday, the memorabilia purveyor announced a collection of exclusive products and giveaways based on Trek and other television series including Dexter and The Twilight Zone.

At CBS’ booth (#4129), StarTrek.com is giving away 1,701 copies of a limited edition Star Trek: The Next Generation poster to commemorate the series’ 25th anniversary. The site will also be giving away beach towels, watches, cycling jerseys, flasks and more.
Additionally, CBS has partnered with the apparel line Her Universe for a collection of fashion tops and hoodies specially designed for women. Two of the tops will be available for purchase at booth #2913-F. Another apparel collection from Anovos Productions is set to be unveiled at booth # 2913-E, which includes a Star Trek: Voyager jumpsuit, a Star Trek: TNG outfit for men and jumpsuits for women. Trek fans can also get their photos taken with “the Ladies of the Fleet” and Anovos will be holding a “Beam Me Up” cosplay gathering Sunday at 1pm for a chance to win pictures and drawings.
After producing several series of keepsake ornaments, Hallmark’s new line will be appear in stores starting July 13. At booth #2913, their latest designs will be on display, including the U.S.S. Enterprise™ NCC-1701-D of STAR TREK: The Next Generation™ 25th Anniversary Keepsake Ornament. Hallmark will also unveil designs for their 2013 Trek ornaments. Meanwhile, over at booth #1128, publisher Simon & Schuster will be featuring their monthly Star Trek novels, as well as their upcoming Haynes Manual for the Klingon Bird of Prey.
Over at booth #429, La-La Land Records will be selling copies of their three-disc Star Trek: The Motion Picture soundtrack, as well as their three-disc set for Star Trek: The Next Generation. The company will also be releasing details about its upcoming Deep Space Nine soundtrack, due out later in 2012.
Not only Twilight Zone but James Bond fans should visit booth #2343, where Richard Kiel, who memorably played Bond foe “Jaws,” will autograph copies of a limited edition Comic-Con exclusive Kanamit’s Cookbook gift set, which features a tin tote, journal and 8-inch scale Kanamit action figure. Also available at the booth is the Comic-Con exclusive “The Invaders” diorama, and a pair of Twilight Zone bobble heads.
