DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Consumer Products are spending April celebrating their popular DC Super Hero Girls property with a month of special online programming aimed at younger readers across multiple platforms titled DC Kids Super Hero Month.

The initiative, announced over the weekend via the DC Kids YouTube channel, will feature new content across the official DC Super Hero Girls website, social media channels and app, as well as new episodes of DC Kids and on DCKids.com, and social channels dedicated to both the Justice League Action and Teen Titans Go! animated series.

Part of the monthlong program centers around weekly "Super Hero Training Camp" exercises, intended to help kids reach their best potential by using DC's superhero characters as inspirations with lessons centering on the value of friendship, kindness and creativity, amongst other attributes. (Batman, in particular, is very big on friendship and kindness.)

Beyond the online component, DC Kids Super Hero Month will also be supported by merchandising partners including Target, Toys'R'Us, Walmart and Amazon, with Mattel, the Lego Group and other manufacturers also participating in the promotion. Additionally, a DC Kids Super Hero Month sweepstakes will run throughout April, offering fans a chance to win DC Super Hero Girls, Justice League Action and Teen Titans Go! merchandise, with runner-up prizes of smaller merchandise collections.

DC Super Hero Girls launched as a multimedia property in 2015, with web-based animation and related action figures and merchandise. Subsequent releases have included best-selling graphic novels from DC, a direct-to-home full-length movie release and a series of prose novels from Random House. Mattel's action figure assortment won the Toy Industry Association's Action Figure Toy of the Year honors in February.
