'Deadpool 2' Resumes Production After On-Set Death
Production has restarted on Deadpool 2 in Vancouver two days after a stuntwoman, S.J. Harris, was killed on the Hollywood movie set.
Jason Cameron, a business agent for UBCP-ACTRA, the local actors union in British Columbia, told The Hollywood Reporter that they had been advised that main unit production had restarted. Director David Leitch is back at the helm on the Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin-starrer, a highly anticipated sequel to Fox's 2016 Marvel antihero film.
20th Century Fox declined to comment.
Eyewitness accounts to local news reporters Monday said that Harris, who was earlier identified by the Coroner's Service of British Columbia, had performed a scene four times in practice, but on the fifth attempt appeared to lose control of the motorcycle she was riding and drove into a nearby building, through glass.
Deadpool 2 has been shooting in Vancouver since late June. On Monday, studio 20th Century Fox expressed its condolences, and Reynolds in his own statement said the entire cast and crew were heartbroken over the loss.
