Fox Picks Up Comic Book 'Mind MGMT' for Ridley Scott to Produce (Exclusive)
Dark Horse Entertainment’s Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg also are attached to produce.
Twentieth Century Fox has picked up the movie rights to Mind MGMT, a Dark Horse comic book by indie darling Matt Kindt.
Ridley Scott is producing via his Fox-based Scott Free banner, along with Dark Horse Entertainment’s Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg.
Kindt is the writer and artist behind several acclaimed graphic novels and webcomics. Mind MGMT, launched last year, is his first ongoing series.

The book centers on a government agency consisting of psychic spies and their greatest asset, Henry Lime. After he suffers a breakdown and loses control of his abilities, causing the populace of a town to kill one another, he goes on the run. Several years later, a true-crime author named Meru, who was part of a flight where everyone mysteriously developed amnesia, is saved by Lime and begins to investigate the agency, uncovering her own secret connection to it.
A search for a writer to adapt is under way.
This isn’t the first brush with Hollywood for CAA-repped Kindt. His graphic novel 3 Story: The Secret History of the Giant Man at one point was set up at Warner Bros. with Dustin Lance Black writing and attached to direct. The project is now in turnaround and Black is retooling the script.
Dark Horse is in post on R.I.P.D., an adaptation of one of its properties. The movie, set for release July 19 by Universal, stars Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges.
Scott, who is not attached as a director to Mind MGMT, is coming off the Sundance debut of Stoker, the Park Chan-wook-directed thriller starring Nicole Kidman and Mia Wasikowska. He also recently wrapped production on Out of the Furnace, a thriller starring Christian Bale and Zoe Saldana.
