Freddy Krueger Joins 'Mortal Kombat'

"Nightmare on Elm Street" villain haunts the game on August 9.

Nightmare on Elm Street baddie Freddy Krueger will join the ranks of Mortal Kombat fighters beginning on August 9, announced Warner. Bros Interactive.

For $4.99 on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live, gamers can make all their nightmares come true. This is the fourth downloadable character introduced to the game.

Krueger’s gloves with razors will provide a clear weapon for the new character, who will have his own set of moves and fatalities.

The character first appeared in 1984 in Wes Craven’s Nightmare on Elm Street. He attacked people in their dreams, in turn killing them in their awake lives also.
