It’s not the footage of the iconic reptilian monster fans may be craving, but a Canadian news station has an early look at Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures' Godzilla.

The film, from director Gareth Edwards, began production in Vancouver this week, and the footage from the filming includes plenty of military personnel pointing weapons, according to the news report from CTV.

There also are glimpses of wrecked jets and other military vehicles looking like they’ve tangoed with a giant creature and are worse for the wear for it. Several hundred local residents were cast as extras, according to the report.

Earlier this week, Ken Watanabe joined the cast, which also includes Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn and Bryan Cranston.Though little is known about the story, The Hollywood Reporter previously reported Olsen will play Taylor-Johnson’s love interest, and Cranston will play his stepfather.
