'Hellboy' Actor to Play an Alien in 'Neighborhood Watch'

Doug Jones, known for playing characters under prosthetic make-up, has been cast as an alien in Fox’s sci-fi comedy Neighborhood Watch.

The movie sees Ben Stiller leading a cast that includes Vince Vaughn and Jonah Hill (Billy Crudup, as Heat Vision first reported, is in negotiations to join the production) and centers on a suburban "neighborhood watch" group that finds itself in over its head when it uncovers an alien plot to destroy the world.

Akiva Schaffer is directing while Shawn Levy is producing.

The movie begins shooting this month in Atlanta.

A sort of modern-day Boris Karloff, Jones, repped by Omnipop Talent Group, has made a name for himself hiding his face playing fantastical characters. He starred as Abe Sapien in Guillermo del Toro’s Hellboy movies and also played Fauno and Pan in the director’s Pan’s Labyrinth. He also played the Silver Surfer in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
