'Hitman: Agent 47' Trailer Introduces Rupert Friend's Engineered Assassin
Fox's first official trailer for its Hitman reboot, starring Rupert Friend as the genetically engineered assassin, debuted online on Wednesday morning.
The action-packed preview for the film, which is set to hit theaters on Aug. 28, features Agent 47 showing off his elite, lethal skills as others reveal who he is and how he was created.
The clip opens with Agent 47 in an interrogation room, raising his head to reveal the barcode tattooed on the back of his neck. After a few introductory questions, and a glimpse of the woman that's his intended target, 47 says they should really let him go.
"The last time I checked. You're the one locked in here with me and I have the gun," the interrogator says.
47 retorts, "No, Mr. Sanders. You're locked in here with me, and you just brought me mine."
He then kicks the table, getting the gun to go off and uses the bullet to break his handcuffs. He then takes out the guards and steals one's uniform.
Throughout much of the rest of the trailer, 47 is shown fending off those who are trying to apprehend him as Zachary Quinto's John Smith explains to Hannah Ware's Katia van Dees who 47 is and how he came to be 47's intended target.
"He's an engineered human being, stronger, faster, more intelligent than normal people," Smith says. He explains that Katia's father started the agent program.

"He knows their weakness. You're the key to finding your father."
A series of explosions and a helicopter crashing into an office building close out the preview.
Aleksander Bach directed Hitman: Agent 47 from a script by Skip Woods and Michael Finch. Timothy Olyphant starred in the 2007 version of the Fox film.
