Hugh Jackman in 'Real Steel': First Look Photos
Dreamworks released several images from the robot boxing film.
Dreamworks has released new images from Real Steel, a film starring Hugh Jackman as a father who works with his son to train a robot boxer into a champion.
The images provide an opportunity to view the robots up close. According to a recently released featurette, the robots came to life through motion captured, and their moves were choreographed by famous professional boxer Sugar Ray Leonard.

“Shawn [Levy] said to me, ‘How do you feel about Sugar Ray Leonard?’ I said, ‘Sure, why don’t we just go for the best,’” said Jackman in the featurette.
The film is set in the year 2020, when human boxing has become obsolete, replaced by robot boxing. Jackman plays a former boxer, Charlie, whose career is invalidated by the rising popularity of boxing robots instead of real people.
