'Hunger Games' Announces DVD and Blu-Ray Release for August
Lionsgate sets the date for its biggest-ever home entertainment launch of the teen tentpole that has taken in $392 million domestically and $636 million globally.
Lionsgate’s DVD and Blu-Ray release of The Hunger Games is coming August 18.
The studio’s biggest home entertainment launch to date will see a two-disc DVD, a two-disc Blu-ray, VOD and digital download of the first installment in The Hunger Games franchise hit the market at 12:01 A.M. on August 18.

The Hunger Games fans can start pre-ordering the Blu-ray Disc and DVD from May 25th, for $39.99 and $30.98, respectively.
The home entertainment release follows The Hunger Games grossing $392 million at the North American box office to date, and nearing $650 million in worldwide ticket receipts, Lionsgate reported Wednesday.
That’s before an early June theatrical release in China.
Both sets will contain three hours of bonus materials, including an eight-part documentary The World is Watching: Making of The Hunger Games.
