'Hunger Games' Imax Banner Released
A day before advanced tickets go on sale, a new image for Lionsgate’s highly anticipated film hit the web.
As the countdown continues towards the March 23 premiere of The Hunger Games, Lionsgate has released a new banner for the IMAX release.
The poster is not very different from the previously released poster showing Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) taking aim with her bow and arrow, but fans will take whatever they can get. “The World Will Be Watching” logo stretches across the top of the new banner.

Imax will release a digitally remastered version of the tentpole for a one-week run on the same day as its theatrical release from March 23.
Additionally, tomorrow, Feb. 22, will be a big day for Hunger Games fans, who can purchase advanced tickets for the film, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth.
Katniss’ advantage in the Games is her skill with a bow and arrow (as emphasized in the poster), which she honed while illegally hunting for food for survival with her friend Gale (Hemsworth).

The Hunger Games, based on the much-loved novels by Suzanne Collins, follows Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark (Hutcherson), two tributes from District 12 living in the futuristic world of Panem, who are forced to enter the annual Hunger Games, a fight-to-the-death competition between young representatives of each of the 12 districts.
The adventure film, directed by Gary Ross, also stars Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson and Lenny Kravitz.
