IFC Midnight has acquired U.S. rights to writer-director Padraig Reynolds’ thriller Rites of Spring.

A.J. Bowen, Anessa Ramsey, Sonny Marinelli, Katherine Randolf, Marco St. John, Hannah Bryan, Sarah Pachelli, James Bartz, Shanna Forestall, Skylar Burke and Andrew Breland star in the story of kidnappers whose hideout in an abandoned school is attacked by a mysterious creature. Wes Benton and Eric Thompson produced the film; Bobby Benton and John Norris served as executive producers.

"We're thrilled to be working with Padraig Reynolds on his immensely entertaining, genre-bending thriller," said Sundance Selects/IFC Films president Jonathan Sehring. "He's a major talent, and it is sure to be one of our most popular IFC Midnight titles next year."

Sundance Selects/IFC Films exec Jeff Deutchman negotiated the deal with Nate Bolotin of XYZ Films on behalf of the filmmakers.

A sister division to Sundance Selects and IFC Films, IFC Midnight has released The Human Centipede (First Sequence), Vengeance and Super. Upcoming releases include The Incident and Penumbra.
