Is Dwayne Johnson Green Lantern -- or Just a Big Green Lantern Fan?
Was The Rock teasing or spilling the beans with some social media hashtags yesterday?
First Vin Diesel uses social media to slowly leak what his Marvel Studios role was, and now we have Dwayne Johnson seemingly doing the same thing for his DC Entertainment — or was he simply expressing a fanboy opinion?
On Instagram yesterday, Johnson shared a picture of himself with producer Hiram Garcia, with a caption that read, "Known this beast since he was 15. I was on the football field playing for Miami, he was leading the Hurricanes marching band as Drum Major. He spent years of working on my WWE story lines & Rock monologues. Then years of being on every movie set with me learning the film business from top to bottom. Today, he's one of the best and most sought after producers in Hollywood. Brilliant, relentless and one big motherf*cker! Proud of you brother & thank you for all the hard work."
So far, so … well, so Dwayne Johnson. Except that the image had the following hashtags: "#ProducerHiram #TeamRock #JohnStewartCanStillWhupSupermansAss" If you thought that last hashtag seemed out of place, you're not alone — and when the subject was brought up on Twitter, Johnson doubled down:

It's possible that Johnson is just teasing an Internet audience that's always eager for clues as to what's coming next — or that he's simply a very big fan of John Stewart, the Green Lantern who most remember as the hero on duty in the Cartoon Network Justice League series. Then again, perhaps Johnson really will play the marine-turned-space cop for Warners in an attempt to jumpstart the Green Lantern franchise and erase memories of Ryan Reynolds' time with the ring.
