Jason Momoa as Aquaman: First Photo Revealed
Director Zack Snyder has unveiled the first look at his Aquaman
The director tweeted a photo of Game of Thrones alum Jason Momoa in costume as the character he'll first play in next year's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Snyder is directing Dawn of Justice, which hits theaters March 25, 2016. The film stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. Other actors in the mix include Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, and Jeremy Irons as Alfred. Man of Steel stars Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane are reprising their roles.
In the comics, Aquaman was a founding member of the Justice League. Arthur, King of Atlantis, rules Earth's oceans and has superstrength and can talk with sea life.
After debuting in Batman v. Superman, Aquaman is expected to in Justice League Part One (Nov. 17, 2017) before starring in his own solo adventure Aquaman (July 27, 2018) and regrouping with his superhero pals in Justice League Part Two (June 14th, 2019)
Snyder is directing the Justice League films. No director has been set for Aquaman, but Will Beall (Gangster Squad) and Kurt Johnstad (300: Rise of an Empire) are writing the script.
