Jim Carrey on His Character’s Look in 'Kick-Ass 2' (Video)
"I'm having a lot of fun throwing myself into these smaller parts and burying myself in the character," the actor tells THR while promoting his upcoming comedy, "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone."
Jim Carrey is known for transforming himself for roles, from the magically-powered trickster in 1994’s The Mask to the Riddler in 1995's Batman Forever all the way through his upcoming role as rogue magician Steve Gray in The Incredible Burt Wonderstone.
While discussing the upcoming magician comedy, The Hollywood Reporter also spoke to Carrey about his role in Kick-Ass 2. He’ll play masked crusader Colonel Stars and Stripes, who joins the crime-fighting group of kids in the follow-up to the popular 2010 comedy film.

"You’d be surprised with how little it is," he tells THR about the use of makeup and prosthetics on his face. "We did as little as we could do, but it was fantastic."
"What I’m finding out is that you don’t have to alter yourself a hell of a lot to be completely a different person," he adds.
Carrey tells THR that he had prosthetics added to his jaw, forehead and nose for the role.
"I’m having a lot of fun throwing myself into these smaller parts and burying myself in the character," he says.
Kick-Ass 2, written and directed by Jeff Wadlow, opens in theaters on Aug. 16.
The Incredible Burt Wonderstone opens in theaters on Friday, March 15.
