Lili Taylor Joins 'Texas Chainsaw' Prequel 'Leatherface'
Lili Taylor will play the mother to one of screen’s horror icons in Leatherface, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel being made by Millennium.
Stephen Dorff, Sam Strike, James Bloor, Sam Coleman and Jessica Madsen are starring in the movie, which, according to the company, tells of “a young nurse who is kidnapped by four violent teens who escape from a mental hospital and take her on a road trip from hell. Pursued by an equally deranged lawman out for revenge, one of these teens is destined for tragedy and horrors that will destroy his mind, molding him into the monster we now call Leatherface.”
Taylor is replacing Angela Bettis, who dropped out due to a scheduling conflict.
The movie is being produced by Christa Campbell and Lati Grobman, alongside Carl Mazzocone; the three were also behind 2013’s Texas Chainsaw 3D, which resurrected the franchise. Les Weldon is also a producer.
A veteran of the indie scene, Taylor has lately been working in the genre space. She was one of the stars of the horror hit The Conjuring and has appeared in TV shows such as Almost Human, Hemlock Grove and, more recently, American Crime.
Taylor is repped by APA and Circle of Confusion.
