Magnet Releasing Takes U.S. Rights to 'Playback'

Magnet Releasing has acquired U.S. rights to the horror film Playback. The indie distributor plans a launch for the movie on Ultra VOD in February followed by a theatrical release in March.

Lawrence Robbins and John M. Bennett of Bennett Robbins Prods. produced the project. Magnet execs Dori Begley, Peter Van Steemberg and Chris Matson negotiated the deal with Nate Bolotin of Celluloid Nightmares.

Magnolia Pictures' genre arm, Magnet has the films Goon, Innkeepers, Outrage and God Bless America forthcoming.
