Marvel Announces Comic Book Sequel to 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Post-Credit Sequence
For those waiting for a follow-up to the post-credits sequence to last year’s Guardians of the Galaxy, you won’t have to hang on much longer: Marvel Entertainment has revealed that the second issue of the new Howard the Duck series will feature the story of how the character ended up in the clutches of the Collector.
The official solicitation text for the issue, to be released in April, explains that “Howard’s first big case has taken him across the universe and landed him in the clutches of The Collector! But he’s not alone as the very popular Rocket Raccoon is a prisoner as well! Have you ever seen a comic book sequel to a post-credits scene in a movie? Well, you will now!”
The issue, written by Chip Zdarsky with artwork from Joe Quinones, features a cover that teams the irascible duck with Rocket and fellow Guardians Gamora, Star Lord and Groot all taking a selfie where they're making — of course! — duck face.
Elsewhere in Marvel’s solicitations for April releases, the title for the comic book prologue to Avengers: Age of Ultron is revealed to be Avengers: Operation Hydra, with the team taking on “a secret Hydra splinter cell,” while the regular series Avengers, New Avengers, Secret Avengers and Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man all come to an end ahead of the May launch of the Secret Wars event.
