When Marvel Entertainment's All-New, All-Different comic book relaunch was announced, it was teased that there would be an all-new Hulk to accompany the new Thor and Captain America that have debuted in the last year. On Thursday, Marvel revealed the title and creative team for the series to feature the new character, The Totally Awesome Hulk.

The identity of the new Hulk remains under wraps, but writer Greg Pak described the character as "an all-new Hulk with a very different new background and motivations," and something that no earlier Hulk has had: An enjoyment of being the Hulk. "The new Hulk absolutely loves being the Hulk," Pak said, promising that his enjoyment "might create monumental problems for him and all the heroes and villains he comes into contact with."

While The Totally Awesome Hulk sees Pak returning to the Hulk franchise following a fan-favorite run in 2006-2011, the new series will feature artist Frank Cho working on the character for the first time. "The thing that will separate our Hulk from the rest is the humor," Cho told ComicBook.com. "From the start, Greg and I wanted to tell a high action adventure with lots of [Jack Kirby-inspired] monsters and humor."

Although both Pak and Cho promise that the new Hulk's alter ego will be revealed on the first page of the new series, there will be a mystery for readers: namely, whatever happened to Bruce Banner, the original Hulk. "I love that guy and wrote stories about him for years," Pak said. "We’ve got some pretty huge revelations about him coming down the pike."

This isn't the first time that Banner has been replaced as Marvel's primary Hulk; in 2008, Marvel launched a series called, simply, Hulk, which featured a bright red Hulk who would eventually be revealed to be former supporting character Thunderbolt Ross with gamma-irradiated powers.

The Totally Awesome Hulk will be released this fall. Sadly, odds are unlikely that the new Captain America series will follow the example of this series and be called Party On, Captain America.
