Following Lucasfilm's launch of an online variety show intended to recap and curate news regarding the Star Wars property, Disney sibling Marvel Entertainment has followed suit with the announcement of THWIP! The Big Marvel Show.

Hosted by Lorraine Cink and vp/executive editor for Marvel Digital Media Ryan Penagos, the weekly series will offer "the inside scoop on all things Marvel from Marvel HQ in New York City," according to an official release from the company, including "special guests, variety segments and lots of audience interaction using the hashtag #MarvelTHWIP."

This isn't the first publisher-centric video series for comics; DC Entertainment launched DC All Access in September 2013, with the brand receiving its own app as a news delivery service to fans earlier this year.

Penagos and Cink have previously co-hosted live Marvel broadcasts from comic book conventions, with Penagos also a regular co-host on the This Week in Marvel podcast, an audio-only forerunner to THWIP's all-things-Marvel programming. Marvel confirmed to THR that the This Week in Marvel podcast will continue in parallel with THWIP.

The title of the show, for those curious, comes from the sound effect used for Spider-Man's web-shooters in comic book lore. New episodes of the series will be released on YouTube and Marvel.com every Wednesday, coinciding with new comic book releases in specialty stores.
