New 'Godzilla' Footage Focuses on Human Cost (Video)
New footage from Gareth Edwards' Legendary Pictures project reveals why Bryan Cranston's character is searching for the truth behind the mutated monster.
With little over a month to go until the release of Gareth Edwards’ reboot of Godzilla, the latest preview focuses on the destruction caused by the giant monster’s rampage from a human scale.
More so than any earlier trailer, the new “extended look” footage tells a story that’s less based on the spectacle of a giant monster crossing the country and leaving carnage and disaster in its wake than on one firmly rooted in the lives of those affected by the carnage and disaster — including offering more context for Bryan Cranston’s role in the movie, with a nod back to the franchise’s atomic fear roots.
Godzilla is released May 16. Watch the new preview below.
