New 'Snow White and The Huntsman' Trailer and Extended Look Featurette Debut (Video)
Comcast's Xfinity unveils two new looks at Rupert Sanders' dark re-telling of the classic fairytale.
Thanks to Universal, you can start off your week with a terrifying Charlize Theron, a shape-shifting talking mirror and a whole lot of violence. Which is a very good thing.
The epically long rollout for the upcoming black fairytale adaptation Snow White and the Huntsman has hit the web, offering some new footage from Rupert Sanders' directorial debut. Theron, as we've all come to know intimately by now, plays the Evil Queen, a medieval menace that descends far further into egomaniacal madness than did her characters in Young Adult and Monster. Kristen Stewart is a Snow White who takes to battle rather than singing with birds, a la Disney, and Chris Hemsworth is the would-be assassin who, like Edward Cullen, falls victim to Stewart's sullen charms.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at this weekend's Wondercon, Sanders discussed how he twisted the fairytale while sticking to its roots, and avoiding the CGI trap that has befallen many movies in recent years.
"I went back to those symbols, like the drops of blood, the mirror, the sense of loss, the sense of jealousy, the poison apple, the kiss of a love, and all of those things are in there. And to me, you have to go back to that source material because that’s what people want to see – and you have to tell it in a way that feels right for your tastes," the director said. "I didn’t sit down and go well, what would people want to see.' I thought, what would be a cool mirror man, and how would that work? How would the character learn from it and how would we learn about the character through those interactions with the mirror?"
Last week, Universal released three behind-the-scenes looks at the film; check those out here.
