If you have looked at a calendar or been on Twitter at all today, you are well aware that the date is May 4 (aka Christmas day for pun-loving Star Wars fans).

Lin Manuel Miranda got in the holiday spirit by inviting Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams to perform the new Cantina Song from the movie, which Miranda wrote for the blockbuster.

The performance was a part of the weekly Ham4Ham show that Miranda puts on in front of the Richard Rodgers theater, where his 16-time Tony nominated musical Hamilton is staged.

In the video, Abrams explains that when he saw Hamilton before Episode VII was released Miranda came up to him at intermission and joked, "If you need music for the cantina, I'm your guy." Abrams took him up on the offer.

The song is in Jabba the Hutt's native language of Huttese and according to Miranda, it literally translates as "No lover, lover, it's not me." Miranda joked: "It's literally a Shaggy intergalactic remix."

The duo then launch into an accompanied version of the song. Close your eyes and you can imagine yourself in Maz Kanata's bar, surrounded by bounty hunters, smugglers and the occasional Wookie.

The song became available today on iTunes so be on the lookout for the banger at your local interstellar watering hole.
