New Trailer for 'Halo: Nightfall' Teases The "Next Chapter" of Videogame Franchise
“Ready to go to hell, colonel?”
The latest trailer for Microsoft’s Halo: Nighfall digital series is high on both plot teases and atmosphere, but for those hoping for some third-person shooting action will have to look elsewhere.
“Death will come to all of us, especially soldiers,” Mike Colter’s solemn Agent Locke monologues over footage that reminds you that Prometheus’ Ridley Scott is acting as executive producer for the project. “You give your life away so that others may live, and take life that only god can give.”
The trailer re-uses footage premiered at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, while also showcasing the series’ use of time-honored, well-worn dialogue; “It’s time to take the war to them,” “I work better alone,” and “We will not go out like this” all make appearances in the two-and-a-half minute video, as does an alien (at the 1:56 mark) that looks distinctly Doctor Who-esque in its “man in a suit” appeal.
The five-part series will debut on Xbox Live November 11, the same day as the release of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which also contains the show.
