'Oz: The Great and Powerful' Poster Debuts

New poster art for Disney’s upcoming fantasy adventure Oz: The Great and Powerful has debuted. The film, from the producer of Alice in Wonderland (Joe Roth) and director of the Spider-Man trilogy (Sam Raimi), is set to open in U.S theaters March 8, 2013.
The poster features a stormy glimpse of the Emerald City and the yellow brick road. Small-time circus magician Oscar Diggs (James Franco) is seen in a hot air balloon on his way to the Land of Oz.

Without Dorothy, Toto, ruby slippers and a trio of misfits, the poster shows that the film's story is before the days of the 1939 Wizard of Oz.
Disney's new movie is a reboot of L. Frank Baum’s character Oz, following Oscar Diggs as he's hurled away from Kansas to the Land of Oz. Once there, Oscar is greeted by three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced Oscar’s the great wizard everyone has been expecting. Over time, Oscar becomes involved with the problems in the Land of Oz and has to find out who is good and who is evil. By putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity, and a bit of wizardry, Oscar transforms himself into the Wizard of Oz, and into a better man.
