Paramount’s ‘Lions, Tigers and Bears’ Hires Writers (Exclusive)
Duo Adam Jay Epstein and Andrew Jacobson will pen the comic book’s adaptation.
Adam Jay Epstein and Andrew Jacobson have been tapped to bring Lions, Tigers
and Bears to new life for Paramount. Lorenzo Di Bonaventura is producing.
The project is based on an Image comic book by Mike Bullock and tells of the
adventures of a young boy who discovers that his stuffed animals come to
life to protect him from monsters that come out of his closet.
The studio is developing Bears as an effects-heavy live action tentpole and
possible franchise. It initially picked it up two years ago.
Epstein and Jacobson, repped by UTA and H2F, are writing The Familiars for
Sony Animation, which is based on their book trilogy and is being produced
by Sam Raimi. They duo are also working with Raimi on The Transplants, a
superhero action comedy set up at Disney.
