Paul Feig Boards 'Peanuts' Animated Movie as Producer
The film already has a director in Steve Martino ("Ice Age: Continental Drift").
Paul Feig, the director of the hit raunchy comedies Bridesmaids and The Heat, has come aboard to produce and oversee Twentieth Century Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios' animated Peanuts movie, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
The movie already has a director in Steve Martino, whose credits include Ice Age: Continental Drift and Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!, as well as a release date of Nov. 25, 2015.
(2015 will mark the 65th anniversary of the debut of Charles Schulz's comic strip and the 50th anniversary of the TV special A Charlie Brown Christmas.)
The screenplay is by Craig Schulz and the writing team of Bryan Schulz and Cornelius Uliano. Craig Schulz and Bryan Schulz are Charles Schulz's son and grandson, respectively. The three writers are also on board to produce.
Feig, who created the cult TV show Freaks and Geeks, has a first-look deal with Fox.
