Ahead of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1's panel at this year's Comic-Con, Lionsgate has released a limited-edition poster to tease the upcoming November release. And from the looks of it, a rebellion is afoot.
The limited-edition poster, created by artist WK Interact, hints at military action with a black-and-white soldier design and bright red insignia.
The release of the poster follows that of the film's teaser trailer (a news reel-type clip featuring Donald Sutherland's President Snow warning against Panem resistance) and a second promo with an interruption that promises, "The Mockingjay lives." The anticipated film is set to debut its official trailer on Friday at Comic-Con. Fans can join the actors for the official debut, which will show on the Galaxy Tab S in the Capitol Gallery located in the Samsung Galaxy Experience in San Diego (in the Hard Rock Hotel, corner of Fifth and L streets).
Jennifer Lawrence reprises her lead role in the franchise's third installment, alongside Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Julianne Moore and Stanley Tucci, among others. The film adapting roughly one half of Suzanne Collins' third and final Hunger Games book is slated to hit theaters Nov. 21. Mockingjay — Part 2 comes a year later on Nov. 20, 2015. Both Mockingjay films are being directed by Catching Fire helmer Francis Lawrence.
The previous installment in the Lionsgate franchise, Catching Fire, edged past Iron Man 3 as the highest-grossing film released at the North American box office in 2013. It has made nearly $418.2 million domestically and roughly $854.1 million worldwide to date.
