Zack Snyder Introduces Henry Cavill as Super Jedi With Lightsaber (Photo)
The "Batman v. Superman" director tweeted an intriguing universe-melding portrait of the "Man of Steel" star ahead of Warner Bros.' Comic-Con panel.
Star Wars and Superman — could it ever really happen?
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder set fanboys dreaming on Thursday night when he tweeted a mysterious photo of Henry Cavill holding a lightsaber.
Posted with the hashtag #SuperJedi, the photo features the Man of Steel lead in front of an ominous background and dressed in a black hood, complete with the tiniest glimpse of his Superman suit peeking out.

The intriguing tweet was published ahead of the Warner Bros. Comic-Con panel, taking place on Saturday. Curiously enough, the upcoming DC Entertainment installment is not officially on the studio's Hall H agenda this year.
The 2016 follow-up to Man of Steel sees Cavill reprising his Superman role, while Ben Affleck will play the Dark Knight.
"You can talk all you want about other superhero movies," Snyder previously said of the sequel, "but it’s Batman and Superman, let’s just be honest. I don’t know how you get bigger than that."
...apparently, Snyder does know how to get bigger than that: by melding the DC universe with that of Star Wars.
Whether or not such a crossover is possible is another question, of course. Star Wars is owned by Disney, which owns Warners' big rival in the superhero movie stakes, Marvel Studios. If any super hero universe were to collide with George Lucas' galaxy far, far away, it would be Marvel's ... wouldn't it?
