'Saw: Legacy' to Be Scored by Franchise Veteran Charlie Clouser (Exclusive)
Composer Charlie Clouser is ready to put the jigsaw pieces together for another Saw film.
The composer, known for his work with Nine Inch Nails, has closed a deal to score Saw: Legacy, the upcoming return of the horror franchise. Clouser has scored all seven of the previous Saw films, beginning with Saw in 2004.
The film is being directed by Michael and Peter Spierig, who have helmed the Ethan Hawke films Daybreakers and Predestination.
"I’m psyched to be scoring the reinvention of the Saw franchise. I think the Spierig brothers can deliver a fresh take on the material that will establish a new story line and new characters that can carry the saga into the future," Clouser said Friday in a statement. "After a six-year break from the world of Saw, this will be an opportunity for me to reimagine how I approach the score, and I’ll be trying a more stark, bold and stripped-down approach that will be more in line with the strong vision that the Spierig brothers are bringing to the table."
Clouser's recent credits include scores for Fox's Wayward Pines and Syfy miniseries Childhood's End.
Saw: Legacy is set to hit theaters Oct. 27, 2017.
