'Snow White and the Huntsman': Lily Cole and Sam Spruell in Negotiations for Film
UPDATED: Sources tell THR, The British "Hurt Locker" actor and "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" actress are close to deals for the project.
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus actress Lily Cole and British actor Sam Spruell (The Hurt Locker, Defiance) are the latest set to board 'Snow White and the Huntsman,' Universal Picture's action adventure loosely based on the classic fairy tale.
Spruell's negotiations to join the pic follow a casting frenzy this past week that included the recruitment of Ray Winstone, Ian McShane, Eddie Izzard, Bob Hoskins and Toby Jones as well as Eddie Marsan and Stephen Graham as dwarfs.

Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth star in the project, about a princess who escapes her evil stepmother with the help of a huntsman who was to have killed her but now trains the princess to survive and fight back.
In the script, the dwarfs are named after Roman emperors with McShane playing the group’s leader, Caesar, Jones as a timid dwarf named Claudius and Izzard playing Tiberius, described as the biggest and burliest of the crew. Hoskins will play Constantine, a blind dwarf, Graham an angry-looking dwarf named Nero.

Winstone is playing Trajan, the twin brother of Hadrian (Marsan).
A late summer start in Europe is being eyed for the Ruper Sanders-directed project.
FOR THE RECORD: A previous version of this post incorrectly identified Lily Cole as Lily Collins, who is attached to Relativity Media's project, The Brother's Grimm: Snow White, starring Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen.
