The original castmember, who is reprising his role as Luke Skywalker, tweeted his excitement on Thursday for the J.J. Abrams-helmed film of the franchise now owned by Disney, which also reunites Hamill with Harrison Ford, Carrie FisherAnthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker.

After the first table read, Hamill told fans, "I was knocked out by the diverse & extraordinarily talented new cast members. WOW they're good! The saga is in superb hands."

Several sources told The Hollywood Reporter that there is still another substantial role to fill — and it's a female part. Filming is set to begin in London in a few weeks.
