J.J. Abrams' Super 8 has been shrouded in mystery, but on Sunday night, the director gave MTV Movie Awards viewers a new sneak peek at the film.

Abrams -- along with executive producer Steven Spielberg and stars Elle Fanning and Joel Courtney -- introduced the clip during the MTV Movie Awards.

The video starts out with six kids shooting their own movie at a train station, where a train suddenly crashes and sets into motion a series of mysterious events.

Kyle Chandler, Ron Eldard, Riley Griffiths, Gabriel Basso, Ryan Lee and Zach Mills also star in the film, which opens Friday.
