'Under the Dome' Star Cast in 'Home Invasion' (Exclusive)
Natalie Martinez, one of the stars of CBS’s Under the Dome, has landed a lead role in the thriller Home Invasion.
Commercials director Sean Carter is directing the thriller, which is being made by Voltage Pictures and Zinc Entertainment, a division of Silver Pictures.
Martinez will join Bella Thorne in the story that focuses on a family imprisoned in their own home by intruders who play a life-and-death game in which the mysterious rules become clear as the night unfolds.
Martinez will play Thorne’s strong-willed stepmother, who is determined to keep her new family intact as the night’s horrific events unfold.
The film, which is gearing up for production later this fall, is being produced by Silver Pictures’ Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman, who developed the script, along with Voltage's Nicolas Chartier and Craig Flores.
Joel Silver and Steve Richards are exec producing with Michael Fiore, a longtime collaborator of Carter’s. Joseph Dembner wrote the script and is co-producing
Voltage is fully financing the movie, which hopes to emulate the recent success of modestly-budgeted genre pics such as The Conjuring and The Purge.
Martinez is on an upward trajectory right now. Dome was a summer hit for CBS, which renewed it for a second season. She also nabbed the female lead opposite Ryan Reynolds in Selfless, and booked a role in Warner’s Run All Night, starring Liam Neeson and Joel Kinnaman.
She is repped by WME, Mosaic, and Hansen Jacobsen.
