'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Debuts Wiz Khalifa-Led Rap Single, TV Spot (Video)
Juicy J and Ty Dolla $ign are also featured on "Shell Shocked," produced by Kill The Noise and Madsonik.
What's a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film without a rap single?
Paramount Pictures and Atlantic Records have unveiled "Shell Shocked," a new track by Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J and Ty Dolla $ign. Produced by Kill The Noise and Madsonik, the rap single features EDM beats while the chorus repeats, "Knock, knock, you about to get shell shocked."
"[Paramount] heard about how big of a fan I was of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and their whole legacy," said Khalifa in a statement. "I actually have Donatello tattooed on my leg, so when they asked me to do it, just being a fan and being a musician, it made sense. In my generation, I think everyone who listens to me loves the Turtles as much as I do, so it just made sense."
"It’s hella crazy being included in the music for the Ninja Turtles movie,” said Ty Dolla $ign. "You know, being a fan and everything, this is super surreal. ‘Shell Shocked’ is so different from what people are used to hearing from Ty Dolla $ign. Plus, Wiz and Juicy killed it like they always do. It’s a perfect song for this movie."
"I grew up on the Ninja Turtles, so when I heard about this, I knew it would be dope," said Juicy J. "The special effects and art in this movie are crazy and producer Michael Bay is a legend. I’m excited to be a part of this film on the ‘Shell Shocked’ track with Wiz and Ty."
Jonathan Liebesman’s reboot of the comic book series stars Megan Fox, William Fichtner, Will Arnett and the voices of Tony Shalhoub and Johnny Knoxville.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hits theaters Aug. 8.
