Two top names in the horror field are teaming up for a television project.

Wes Craven, the iconic horror director, is partnering with Steve Niles, the comic author who co-created 30 Days of Night, to adapt Niles' upcoming comic The Disciples.

Universal Cable Productions, which produced shows such as Being Human and Defiance, is in the process of picking up the rights to the title, which is due to hit stands in May from Black Mask Studios.

Disciples, drawn by Christopher Mitten, is a sci-fi horror story set in space.

Craven will exec produce along with Sara Bottfeld of Industry Entertainment. The horror maven is not writing or directing at this stage.

Black Mask co-founders Matt Pizzolo and Brett Gurewitz will exec produce with fellow co-founder Niles.

Craven has only worked in TV sporadically. He co-created the short-lived anthology show Nightmare Cafe in the early '90s and is involved in MTV's version of his horror movie franchise Scream, which is scheduled to air in fall 2015. He is repped by WME and Industry.

Niles is repped by APA and Loeb & Loeb. Black Mask is repped by Grandview and attorney Matt Sugarman.
