Singapore tips 'Magic' for Oscar


September 05, 2008 Director Eric Khoo's latest film, "My Magic," has been selected as Singapore's official entry to the Oscars by the Singapore Film Commission, Khoo said Friday. Shot on a budget of $250,000 and wrapped in just nine days, "My Magic" tells an intimate story of a father and son relationship. In May, it became the first Singapore movie to take part in the prestigious Palme d'Or competition at Festival de Cannes.
