Singapore agencies boost sports funding

November 03, 2008 Singapore's Sports Council and the Media Development Authority have established a S$1 million ($680,000) sports media fund to boost local sports content creation for domestic and international markets, the two government agencies said Monday. The SSC-MDA Sports Media Fund will focus on multiplatform content and particularly content for digital media. The announcement comes two days after the International Olympic Committee's coordination team said preparations were on track in Singapore for the first Summer Youth Olympic Games in 2010.
