Bedi Singh named CFO of MGM

Gemstar executive is an industry veteran

Entertainment finance vet Bedi Singh was named CFO of MGM on Tuesday.

Singh leaves a post as executive vp and CFO of Gemstar-TV Guide International.

At MGM, where he also will carry the title of president of finance and administration, Singh will report to the studio's chairman and CEO, Harry Sloan.

"Bedi brings an impressive wealth of worldwide entertainment industry and financial management experience to MGM's top financial post," Sloan said.

Singh said he was "honored to be joining MGM at this exciting time of growth and evolution for the studio."

Prior to joining Gemstar in 2006, Singh held entertainment finance positions at Sony, News Corp. and Arthur Andersen.
