Los Angeles-based Maya Entertainment has acquired U.S. distribution
rights to the crime drama "La Linea," starring Andy Garcia, Ray
Liotta and Esai Morales.
Directed by James Cotten, the film is set in in Tijuana and follows a veteran assassin, played by Liotta, as he tracks down the head of a crime cartel, played by Esai Morales, who has taken over from a character played by Andy Garcia. The cast also includes Armand Assante, Joe Morton, Bruce Davison, Jason Connery, Michael DeLorenzo, Valerie Cruz, Jordi Vilasuso, Danny Trejo, Kevin Gage and Gary Daniels. It was produced by Geoffrey G. Ross and R. Ellis Frazier, who also wrote the screenplay. Endeavor repped the producers in the deal, which was negotiated for Maya by executive vp Jose Martinez Jr. and Alex Raminfar. A release date has not yet been announced.
