Canadian arm of MPAA taps exec director


May 21, 2008 The MPAA's Canadian affiliate on Wednesday named veteran intellectual property lawyer Wendy Noss as its new executive director. Noss joined the Canadian Motion Picture Distributors Assn. in 2006 as general counsel, before she was promoted in January to acting executive director when former CMPDA president Douglas Frith stepped down as the Hollywood studios' Canadian point man after 12 years in the post.
