Five committed to 'Insanitarium'

TORONTO -- Jesse Metcalfe, Peter Stormare, Kiele Sanchez, Kevin Sussman and Olivia Munn are checking in to "Insanitarium."

"Midnight Meat Train" writer Jeff Buhler penned the script and is making his directorial debut on the indie horror thriller.

Metcalfe will play a man who pretends to be crazy in order to save his sister (Sanchez) from being involuntarily hospitalized. Once inside the institute, the siblings discover that a doctor (Stormare) is using his patients like lab rats, forcing them to take a drug that turns them into flesh-eating psychopaths.

Mason Novick, J.C. Spink, Chris Bender, Andrew Golov and Larry Shapiro are producing.

Metcalfe is attached to star in Ashok Amritraj's romantic comedy "The Other End of the Line" for Hyde Park Entertainment and MGM. Filming on "Line" is scheduled to start next month in Mumbai, India, and in the U.S. Metcalfe recently reprised his role as gardener John Rowland for an upcoming episode of ABC's "Desperate Housewives."

Sanchez appeared on ABC's "Lost," Stormare played a convict on Fox's "Prison Break," Sussman played Walter on ABC's "Ugly Betty," and Munn is co-host of "Attack of the Show."

Metcalfe is repped by Gersh, Untitled and attorney Karl Austen.
