Graff finds way to 'Will' for Walden

By Nicole Sperling

March 2, 2007, ET

Todd Graff, the writer-director behind the indie film "Camp," is back to investigate the pathos of adolescence in the film "Will" for Walden Media.

Graff will direct the coming-of-age dramedy and is working on a rewrite of the original screenplay by Josh Kagan.

"Will" centers on a high school outcast and a popular girl who form an unlikely bond through their shared love of music. Assembling a like-minded crew of misfits, the friends form a rock group and perform in the battle of the bands competition at their school.

Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Marisa Yeres will produce through Goldsmith-Thomas Prods.

Executive vp production Alex Schwartz and creative executive Jared Mass will represent Walden. Senior vp business legal Frank Smith negotiated the deal on behalf of Walden.

"Camp," released by IFC in 2003, was his first directorial effort.

Graff is repped by WMA.
