Timberlake will play Jacques Grande, a professional hockey player. The film is slated to go into production in September in Toronto. Marco Schnabel will direct from a script by Myers and Graham Gordy. In the comedy, the Love Guru (Myers) -- an American raised by gurus who moves back to the U.S. to get into the self-help business -- is challenged to settle a rift between a Toronto Maple Leafs star hockey player, played by Romany Malco, and his estranged wife. After the split, the wife starts dating L.A. Kings star Grande out of revenge. This sends her husband into a major professional skid, to the horror of the team owner, played by Jessica Alba, and coach, portrayed by Verne Troyer. Spyglass Entertainment will co-finance the film; producers are Myers and Michael De Luca. Donald J. Lee, Jr., Roger Birnbaum and Gary Barber will executive produce. A June 20 release is planned. Timberlake, who is currently on his "FutureSex/LoveShow" tour, was a member of the Myers-led voice ensemble in DreamWorks' "Shrek the Third." His recent credits include "Alpha Dog." Justin Timberlake is lacing up his skates to join the cast of Paramount Pictures' Mike Myers comedy "The Love Guru."
