Slade doing the 'Unthinkable'

By Borys Kit

Feb 8, 2008, ET

Complete Berlinale coverage

BERLIN -- David Slade has signed on to direct the thriller "Unthinkable" for Sidney Kimmel Entertainment.

Kimmel International is handling international rights. It is selling the film at the European Film Market in Berlin.

Like Slade's thriller "Hard Candy," "Unthinkable" delves into psychological manipulation centering on the interrogation of a man who knows the location of three nuclear weapons set to detonate in the U.S.

Peter Woodward ("Closing the Ring") and Oren Moverman ("I'm Not There") wrote the screenplay.

Caldecot Chubb ("Believe in Me") and Patriot Pictures' Michael Mendelsohn ("Lord of War") are producing.

The project is in preproduction and is casting. A summer start is being eyed.

Slade last directed Columbia's vampire horror movie "30 Days of Night." He is repped by WMA and Anonymous Content.
